Founded in 2019, just before the pandemic hit, the Real Inbound journey started with a focus on transforming B2B sales organisations through strategic inbound marketing. However, as we worked closely with clients, we realised a critical challenge that many were facing—the gap between purchasing HubSpot and fully leveraging its capabilities. This gap, which we now call the HubSpot Adoption Gap, became impossible to ignore.
A Little about Us
Let us help you closing the HubSpot Adoption Gap
Tony Dowling
Sales [Co-Founder]
My name is Tony and I'm the co-founder of Real Inbound alongside long-time friend Mark.
My background is in sales and marketing and I've had senior management roles in companies such as The Guardian Media Group, Local World (DMGT) and Team Rock.
I first used HubSpot as a customer for many years with my sales teams and that's led to me acquiring a ton of experience in the use of CRM tools especially. I hold up to 30 HubSpot certifications (the grind is real) and lead on Business Analysis, System Architecture and of course Revenue Operations for Real Inbound.
My background allows me insight into the problems you will face during onboarding and the change management challenges you will face within your teams, and I have the management expertise to help you solve them too.
And once we have HubSpot in and working well, we can focus on improving your sales marketing and customer service performances based on my experience in leading large teams and corporations to grow over many years.
When I'm not taking new HubSpot certifications I enjoy spending time with my family, wife Joanne and sons Alex and Jake. This is however a blatant attempt to build up enough credit to get out on my dream motorbike, my Ducati Multistrada 1260S. I'm not sure whether I prefer talking HubSpot or Bikes!
Mark
Hullin
Web [Co-Founder]
Hi there! My name is Mark, and I am one of the co-founders and marketing director of Real Inbound. Some generously call me the “marketing ninja” who can slay any marketing dragon with my expertise in inbound marketing, HubSpot CMS, and business growth strategies.
Growing up in the beautiful coastal city of Swansea, located in South Wales Riviera, I have been exposed to the latest marketing trends since my early years. Over time, I have honed my skills in creating killer campaigns and building cutting-edge websites for renowned brands like Swansea Building Society.
My specialty lies in inbound marketing where I have become an authority in creating content that resonates with your target audience, nurturing them through the sales funnel, and driving leads to your business. I am well-versed in HubSpot CMS and my team can design and optimise your website to provide maximum performance and user experience, delivering measurable results that make a difference.
However, I am not just a marketing expert; I am also a creative thinker who identifies new growth opportunities and develops innovative digital strategies that help us achieve our own goals. I have a vast range of HubSpot accreditations that cover everything from Inbound Marketing to CMS and SEO.
During my free time, I indulge in my passion for food and travel and enjoy climbing ropes and throwing weights at my CrossFit box.
Richard Underwood
Marketing
Hello, my name is Rich and I have joined Tony and Mark at Real Inbound bringing even more experience to an already expert team.
I have been working in digital for 25 years starting at the Telegraph in 1999 where I was Head of SEO.
My journey continued as a SEO consultant for a marketing agency building new skills and working in new verticals including recruitment, eCommerce and public service.
I was headhunted to head up audience development at Local World (formerly DMGT). It was here I also met Tony.
Additional roles have included Audience Director at Team Rock, Head of Product (news) for Newsquest and Head of Performance Marketing and SEO for Rated People The Toronto Star, Dow Jones, BBC and other smaller jobs and projects.
In a swerve to the personal Rich some flavours from what I do when not working. The choice of the word flavours was deliberate as I very much enjoy food, wine and cooking. Like the late great Keith Floyd I'm not adverse to combining the three, although, and of course, without the great man's skill and flamboyance!
I'm also a full-time cat daddy, looking after and providing lodgings and accommodation for 3 cats. It's likely that when providing a static lap for a demanding kitty I may well be exploring a video game as they continue to be a diversion when not working.

James Hooker
Implementation Manager
Hey! I’m James, the HubSpot Implementation Manager for Real Inbound. I am the lead strategist for HubSpot onboarding, implementation and integration projects, regardless of their complexity.
My particular areas of interest are in marketing, sales and business process automation. I love helping companies to work better, automating manual tasks and connecting different teams, so that your visitors seamlessly go for visitors to prospects, to customers and to repeat buyers/evangelists. By using automation and integration, we can remove friction across your whole organisation, with HubSpot at the centre.
Aside for my love of automation, I have multiple HubSpot accreditations and have a thorough understanding of even the most advanced HubSpot functionality. If HubSpot can do it, I can make it happen. Likewise, I am well versed in integrating HubSpot with a wider tech stack.
